King of the City returns in 2026 as Takeover Hoops’ premier 1v1 championship event. Built for high school basketball players in grades 9-12, this tournament brings together the area’s top competitors for a true test of individual skill, toughness, and competitiveness.
No teammates. No excuses. Just you and your opponent.
Players will compete through bracket play with the goal of being crowned the King of the City.

The Takeover Hoops Scholarship Powered by CashCow will be awarded to the King of the City champion.
The scholarship award will be provided in accordance with WPIAL and PIAA guidelines.
The recipient must have exhausted their high school athletic eligibility and officially enrolled at the college, university, or approved educational institution they will attend.
The scholarship is intended to support the recipient’s continued education and is structured to maintain compliance with applicable high school athletic eligibility requirements.
